2017 Australian Open National Championships

RECAP || DAY 1: Australian Open National Championships!
Yesterday we had three swimmers step up on the blocks for the first day of the meet.
Jackson Govers was first up in the Men’s 100m Butterfly finishing just .04 outside of his PB for an excellent start to his campaign! Nice work Jacko!
Next was Sacha Downing in the 2nd longest event of her program women’s 800m Freestyle where she smashed out a top 10 finish!! Great work Sach!

Justine Spurr had a nice hit out in the 50m Breaststroke posting a PB of .02 to finish 12th. However, with a bit of luck Justine had the opportunity to swim in the finals posting another PB of .01 and ending up with an awesome overall place finish of 6th! Fair to say Justine is looking good for her main events later in the week!

RECAP || DAY 2: Australian Open National Championships!
Big day for the City crew today in Brisbane.
Kat Downie in the first event of the day Women’s MC 400m Freestyle qualifying for the final and finishing in 6th amazing job Kat, only the start of a great week!!
Justine Spurr swam the women’s 100m Breaststroke backing up with another great swim just outside her PB, finishing 12th over all after getting to swim in the B final.
Jackson Govers had his 200m Freestyle yesterday morning; another good swim only .40 over his PB with his main event the 100 Freestyle still to come.
Last up was Ryan Evernden with his pet event the men’s 200m Breaststroke, solid swim in the heats qualifying for the B final finishing in 12th place only .60 outside his PB.

RECAP || DAY 3: Australian Open National Championships!
Perth City’s day again started with Kat Downie this time swimming in the women’s MC 100m Butterfly, Kat had a great swim in the heats qualifying for the finals finishing in 8th positions. Great work Kat!!
Our second and last swim of the day was Ryan Evernden in the men’s 100m Breaststroke finishing just outside his PB. Another solid swim!

RECAP || DAY 4: Australian Open National Championships!
It was a HUGE day for Perth City yesterday with Justine Spurr starting off the day in the women’s 200m Breaststroke finishing just outside the finals and completing her Nationals campaign. Fabulous week Justine!!

Kat Downie had a massive day yesterday swimming the women’s MC 200m IM. Kat had a comfortable swim in the mornings heat session to qualify for the final in 5th position backing up in the evening to finish 3rd!!!! ? ? ?CONGRATULATIONS Kat on Perth City’s first open National medal for the meet!!!

Last up was Sacha Downing in the women’s 1500m Freestyle the longest women’s event of the program. Sach came away from the gruelling event with a great top 10 finish in 5th position. Well done Sach!
