Saturday 20 July 2013 was the official celebration of twelve months of success for the Perth City Swimming Club.
It was hard to believe that twelve months ago Perth City started. Our Club President, John Fielding, took us on a journey of remarkable achievement as we reflected on the last twelve months.
From Olympic Games, World Championships, Australian Teams, National medal winners, National records, State medals, State records, YPS achievement, State Team selection, WAIS scholarships, JX awards, literally a ‘tonne’ of medals and not to forget team trips, club nights, early mornings, late nights, cold water, hot showers, sausage sizzles, pizza nights, Easter Egg hunts, Halloween costumes and fun!
The Presentation Night recognised our club members and awards were presented to:
Perth City members were also award winners at the SWA Awards celebration for their outstanding achievements.
With a great attendance and a bundle of trophies Perth City held the Navy and Red in high esteem.
And then it was time to party….
And who ever said the Presentation Night was just for the swimmers…
Lead by DJ legends Andeh DJ Donaldson and Rockin’ Ryan Evernden the dance floor was pumping.
From the juniors to the ‘oldies’ it was the place to be. Whilst some swimmers found it difficult to cope with their parents cranking it up on the dance floor several grabbed at the opportunity to whiz mum around the floor or ‘cast the line and reel her in’! What a great way to say ‘thank you’ for all of those early mornings – sharing a dance with mum.
The squad bonding was amazing with the selected ‘slow’ song a popular hit with the crew.
The budding DJ’s grew by the minute with ‘I am Will’, ‘Gypsy’ Jackson and ‘Powerhouse’ Paras joining the DJ professionals.
