For the final swim of the OW series, Mullaloo was a sea of swimmers with over 300 competitors.
For many of us just thinking about going to the beach involves a bucket and spade with the boogey board and umbrella.
But not for many of our Perth City swimmers and….. parents.
What a showcase of some remarkable club members we have. It certainly has been a month of swimming swimming swimming. With meets and training filling seven days of the week.
The Open Water series has highlighted some significant achievements that swimmers and parents have made in relation to life in general.
- Swimming and training for self esteem
- Swimming in the ocean
- Swimming longer distances
- Achieving medals
- Achieving Australian QT’s
- Finishing high in the total points ranking
On Saturday at Mullaloo I was witness to some of the most amazing successes. With many combinations of mother-daughter father-daughter and father-son competing int he final event of the series. A showcase of age from 10 years to over fifty.
A proud moment for us all.
